Review and Learn

A powerful tool in any lifeform's life is the ability to self improve, that is learn from what worked and did not work, then doing it better next time. I have already discussed how nothing stays the same so your skills will only become poorer unless they get better.

I strongly suggest sitting down quietly away from distractions, at any time, to perform any of the following tasks;

Strengths and Weaknesses Assessment

This involves finding out about you. Write down what you are good at in one list, and what you think needs to improve in another list.

Rate them in order, that is your greatest strength first and your greatest weakness first, or you may want to rate each skill on a scale to 1 to 10 with 10 being an expert.

There are no right or wrong answers, just your opinion. Keep it private and use it to reflect. You may just see how truly good you are at things, although I suggest not telling everyone how good you are - you will get all sorts of reactions - good and bad.

Problem Solving Skills Review

After completing a problem take the time to list out the skills you used and rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 of how effective they were. 10 being great, while 1 being poor.

Now you have a set of new problems to solve - improving those poorer skills. Stay positive by sticking to just the important one's first. You decide which are important, not someone else. How will you improve if others make decisions for you?

What are good skills to have in life? That varies from person to person and would be a great problem for you to solve.

Outstanding Issues List

Find somewhere quiet and list out all the issues currently in your life. Do not think about issues from the past or issues that may happen in the future, just the 'NOW' issues.

Against each issue;

There are no right or wrong answers just your needs, wants and hopes.

Be True to Yourself

If you keep it private you can be honest with yourself. Give yourself permission to do so. You will only be fooling yourself if you cannot be honest. Hide or destroy your notes if you are concerned about others reading them. Self-esteem starts with trusting and honouring your own needs and feelings.
